Calling for the Wind
(c) 1996 Jeanne O'Lone/Magic Lamp Music
The
first time I saw him, I thought he was a child;
Rosy-cheeked
and mischievous, he had me beguiled.
The
first time we danced, it was just like a poem;
The
moment we touched, I knew I had come home.
Now
I’m standing here, Calling for the Wind…
And
when it comes, I’ll throw my arms out wide.
I’ll
jump into its swift embrace and make my body light,
And
into endless azure skies, I’ll ride.
I
loved him so instantly; I knew I’d loved him before,
In
some other lifetime, on some distant shore.
Torn
from his side I was by tragic circumstance,
And
I knew that this life was our second chance.
So
I’m standing here, Calling for the Wind…
And
when it comes, I’ll throw my arms out wide.
I’ll
jump into its swift embrace and make my body light,
And
into endless azure skies, I’ll ride.
We
had no children; there never seemed the time --
Just
our lives together made one perfect rhyme.
Today,
when they told me that he had passed away,
I
knew what I’d do to find him again.
So
I’m standing here, Calling for the Wind…
And
when it comes, I’ll throw my arms out wide.
I’ll
jump into its swift embrace and make my body light,
And
into endless azure skies, I’ll ride.
